Do you have a personal relationship with God?

How you can have a personal relationship with God! My friend, may I ask you life's most important question?

All eternity depends upon your answer to this question. Do you have a personal and living relationship with God.... Have you been born again? (Are you saved?)

There are two types of people in this world. Those who have a personal relationship with God and those who do not. God loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you. In order for you to have a relationship with God you must be born again to spend eternity with Him in Heaven.

Why do I need to be born again?:
Romans 3:23 says ''For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.'' That means that we all have sinned... You, me and everyone!

What's the big deal? So, I've sinned:
Unfortunately sin has a consequence! Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death." That means that our sin separates us from God and interferes with our ability to have a personal relationship with God. By refusing to accept Christ's gift of eternal life, the consequence is an eternity in a literal, physical hell.

OK, so sin has a consequence but I'm a good person can't I earn my way to heaven?:
I'm sorry, my friend, the answer is no. Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast." and Titus 3:5 says "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saves us." That means that only God can save your soul for eternity.

So how do I establish a relationship with God?:
GOOD NEWS! Jesus has provided for your salvation! 1 Peter 2:24 says ''Who (Jesus) His own self bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead (spiritually) to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye are healed.'' and John 3:16 ''For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in (receives) Him should not perish but have everlasting life.'' That means that because of Jesus's sacrifice on the cross for us we can have that personal relationship with God and we can have eternal life in heaven.

How does this apply to me?:
I'm so glad you asked! You must ask Jesus for salvation! Revelations 3:20 says ''If any man hear My voice (Christ's) and open the door (to your heart), I will come in to him (you)...'' and Romans 10:9 ''That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth (in prayer) the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.'' This process is very simple and can be accomplished by the following steps:

1. Admitting you are a sinner;
2. Asking Jesus Christ to save you by acknowledging that He died, was buried and rose again;
3. That He did it personally for you; and
4. Ask Him to come into your life and change your life for all eternity.

Here are the facts:
We have all sinned and sin leads to death but God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross giving us a way to heaven. The choice is yours. Now is the time to establish a personal relationship with God and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior! 2 Corinthians 6:2 says ''...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.''

Now that I understand, what must I do to be saved?:
Right now, call upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save you. Realize you are a sinner, and that Christ died in your place. By faith, ask God to have mercy on you and to save you for Jesus' sake.

What do I pray?:
''Lord, be merciful to me a lost sinner and save me now. I ask you to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart. Please help me to follow and obey Jesus as Lord of my life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.''
