Ministry Overview

The purpose of ministry in the modern day local New Testament church fulfills Jesus Christ’s command outlined in Matthew 28:18-20, the passage often referred to as the Great Commission. Ministry provides the outlet for born again believers to exercise the command to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. . .”

Lawrence Life Fellowship’s mission encompasses the importance of two very important concepts about ministry. The church seeks to instill these concepts in its members as they reach the city and surrounding areas for the cause of Christ.

The first ministry concept states that “ministry rides on the rails of relationships.” Ministering to others works best when born again believers establish genuine relationships with people they encounter in their daily lives. Through providing a consistent lifestyle and helping fulfill their needs, members become friends with these acquaintances. Only when members establish friendships with others do they earn a chance to share the Gospel with them.

Secondly, LLF teaches the Biblical principle that every believer needs the connection to the local New Testament church. The church operates as the structure through which God chooses to minister. Members established in a “right” relationship with a local body of believers and engaged in a diligent study of the word of God are best equipped to minister the word of God to others.

LLF offers several ministry opportunities in which its members can become involved. Members can fulfill the Great Commission through working with toddlers, children, junior high and high school students, college students, young adults, and adults through the outlets of music, discipleship, outreach, fellowship and leadership.
